Firefighters from Honiton were called to the town centre on Wednesday afternoon (August 12) following reports a car was on fire.
The crew arrived at the High Street shortly before 2pm where they found a small fire in the car’s engine compartment, where the air conditioning pump had seized.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “One fire engine from Honiton attended the High Street after reports of a car on fire.
“On arrival there was a small fire in the engine compartment caused by a seized air conditioning pump.
“Fire crews used one hose reel jet, small tools and a thermal imaging camera to extinguish the fire and make sure it was safe.”
