Cyclist injured in crash with car at Budleigh is taken to hospital

A cyclist injured in a crash at Budleigh Salterton on Monday lunchtime was taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital.

Police were called by the ambulance service to the Exmouth Road at Budleigh shortly before 1pm after a report of a crash involving a car and bicycle.

The B3178 Knowle Hill turn-off near East Budleigh was partially blocked because of slow traffic.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesman said: “We were called by the ambulance service with a report of a collision between a car and a pushbike on Exmouth Road, Budleigh Salterton, at around 12.55pm.

“The cyclist has been taken to the Royal Devon and Exeter Hospital with injuries which are not believed to be life-threatening or life-changing.

“The road is now clear.”
