Motorists have been warned busy parts of Exeter city centre will be closed for two nights next week so ‘essential’ roadworks can take place.
North Street, South Street and a section of High Street will be shut from 7pm on Monday and Tuesday (August 10 and 11).
The areas will reopen again at 7am to following day.
Resurfacing work will take place on the junction of North Street and South Street.
A Devon County Council spokesperson said: “The road closure will include a section of the High Street and both North Street and South Street.
“Both North Street and South Street will be closed to all southbound traffic, except to emergency vehicles.
“However, northbound traffic will be able to access lower South Street from Western Way.
“Pedestrian access will be maintained throughout, including cyclists if they dismount.
“A temporary diversion route will be in place via Paul Street, Bartholomew Street East and Bartholomew Street West, across Exe Bridges and then onto Western Way to return to the original route.”
