Police investigating hit-and-run, which damaged three cars in Exeter, launch witness appeal

Police investigating reports of a hit-and-run in Exeter, where three cars were damaged, are appealing for witnesses.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a blue BMW reportedly hit three cars in a residential area of Farm Hill, Exwick, caused damage, fled the scene and made off from officers, on Friday, July 17, between 5pm and 5.20pm.

Investigating officers want to hear from anyone who witnessed the hit-and-run, or who has CCTV footage from the Farm Hill area of Exeter.

PC Beth Kendrick said: “We are investigating an incident where the vehicle fled from the scene. The driver and passenger then later fled from that vehicle.

“This incident happened on a regularly-used main road with residential property along both sides and a number of parked cars lining the road.

“We would be keen to speak to anyone who witnessed the incident or anyone who may have CCTV covering the area.”

She added: “A 20-year-old man from Exeter was arrested on suspicion of a number of traffic-related offences and has been released under investigation pending further enquiries.”

If you have any information to help police with the investigation, email 101@dc.police.uk or call 101, quoting crime reference CR/057967/20.
