‘Our hearts are broken into millions of pieces’ – Family pays tribute to Daniel, 22, from Exeter, who died in road collision

A heartbroken family have paid tribute to a 22-year-old motorcyclist from Exeter who died in a collision with a car earlier this month.

Daniel Adametz had a heart of gold and was caring, friendly, and always willing to help, said his loved-ones.

Emergency services were called to the A377 at Hookway Cross, Crediton, at around 5.45pm on Thursday 7 May.

Sadly, Daniel died at the scene.

His family this week issued a tribute to him and said: “Our hearts are broken into millions of pieces.

“Our Little Brother and Son left us too quickly. Daniel, we all miss you so much and we wish we could hug you again and hold your hand.

“We all wished it was just a bad dream. Heaven has gained an Angel.

“Danielek, on May 20th you were about to celebrate your 23rd birthday and you were very happy to move into a new home this year, the house you saved a lot for carefully.

“You enjoyed sport, especially loved playing football.

“Your heart was made of gold, always so caring, friendly and willing to help, our angel.

“Your whole life was ahead of you. Our Son and Brother, we will always miss you and will always love you with all our hearts. Rest in peace.”

A 27-year-old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of causing death by dangerous driving and released under police investigation while enquiries continue.

Officers are appealing for witnesses of the collision, or anyone with dashcam footage, to come forward.
