Firefighters wore breathing apparatus to tackle blaze that broke out in an industrial machinery unit at Clyst St Mary on Monday afternoon.
Crews from Middlemoor and Topsham, plus the water bowser from Danes Castle, Exeter, were sent to a commercial property on the Hill Barton Business Park at around 3pm on May 11, after receiving reports machinery was on fire.
The crews brought the fire under control and remained onsite to make sure the machinery did not reignite when it was moved to safety.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Fire control received a report of a piece of machinery on fire at a commercial property in Clyst St Mary.
Fire engines from Middlemoor and Topsham were mobilised along with a water carrier from Danes Castle.
“On arrival crews confirmed that there was one industrial machinery unit well alight and committed firefighters in breathing apparatus.
“Fire crews used two breathing apparatus, two compressed air foam branches and one hose reel jet to bring the fire under control.”
