Driver seriously injured as car overturns on A30 near Feniton and Ottery

A driver was taken to hospital with serious injuries after his car overturned on the A30 near Feniton and Ottery St Mary this morning (Saturday, May 2).

The stretch of the dual carriageway, near to Patteson’s Cross, was shut for several hours following the single-vehicle crash at around 5.05am.

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

Initial investigations indicate that a small, white car has left the carriageway on the nearside and rebounded into the carriageway where it has overturned…

A force spokesperson said: “Police received a report of a single vehicle RTC on the A30, Patteson’s Cross towards Daisymount Cross, Honiton, Devon.

“Initial investigations indicate that a small, white car has left the carriageway on the nearside and rebounded into the carriageway where it has overturned.

“The male driver was taken to hospital by ambulance with serious injuries. No other vehicles are believed to be involved.

“The road was closed for a number of hours for scene investigation. Enquires are ongoing.”
