Beautiful Days 2020 has become the latest big East Devon event to be cancelled due to the coronavirus crisis.
‘Very sad’ organisers of the music festival at Escot Park, near Ottery St Mary, said the global pandemic had made the decision ‘unavoidable’.
They added that it was ‘impossible’ to ‘confidently plan’ and ‘safely deliver’ the festivities.
The event had been due to take place between August 21 and 23.
The wellbeing of everyone involved in the festival and the wider local community is our top priority but the uncertainties around COVID-19 make it impossible for us to confidently plan and safely deliver the event this August…
The organisers said in a statement: “We are very sad to say that Beautiful Days will not take place this year.
“This decision has not been taken lightly and we are very aware of the impact this news will have, but it’s unavoidable given the current global crisis.
“The wellbeing of everyone involved in the festival and the wider local community is our top priority but the uncertainties around COVID-19 make it impossible for us to confidently plan and safely deliver the event this August.
“We want to send our love and best wishes to everyone who was set to attend, to perform, to work or trade at the festival. We are really sorry we won’t see you in Escot Park this summer.
“We’ll be talking to artists over the coming months about moving to the 2021 line-up, but no announcements will be made until later in the year.”
“Ticket bookings for this year will automatically rollover to 2021 or refunds are available.”
More details are available on the festival website.
Tickets for Beautiful Days 2020 had gone on sale in late September last year.
The 2021 event is scheduled to take place from August 20-22.
