A tractor spotted on fire in a field by a passer-by near Upottery on Friday night was severely damaged by the blaze.
Firefighters from Honiton were called to a large field just off the A30 shortly before 9.30pm, on March 27, where they tackled the blaze.
The fire service said the cause of the blaze was accidental.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “Two fire appliances from Honiton were mobilised after a passing motorist spotted a large fire in a field.
“At first it was unclear what was on fire, but on closure inspection, whilst still on the phone to fire control, the caller confirmed it was in fact a tractor.
“Two firefighters in breathing apparatus soon had the fire under control and extinguished it with one hose reel jet. Once out, the vehicle and scene were made safe.
“The fire started accidentally and the tractor was severely damaged.”
