Honiton bowlers have good indoor season with high number of wins

Honiton bowlers have had a good indoor season, writes Joan Mackintosh, in her latest match report for the town’s club.

Chris Barradell has won the County Two Wood Singles, which was held at Mid Devon on Sunday, March 8.

Chris will be awarded her county badge at the beginning of next season.

Kevin Vernon, Steve Coles and Ian Veitch have reached the semi-finals of the Men’s County Triples Competition, having won their match against Isca (20-16).

Honiton Ladies were runners-up in the County Lane League with North Devon Bowling Club taking the Number 1 slot.

Bowlers from Taunton Dean visited Honiton to play a Mixed Friendly match winning (70-40).

Top Rink for Honiton was E Richardson, V Kille, D Hawkins, D Hillyear (16-13).

Honiton Men travelled to Maderia to play a Triples match, losing (35-53).

Top Rink: R Rogers, T Williams, C Jacob (17-14).

In a Mixed Friendly match against Topsham played at home, Honiton won (51-36).

Top Rink: D Luff, D Hawkins, M Bright (18-10).

The match between Honiton Men and the Devon Vice Presidents Association ended in a draw (75-75).

The Top Rink: R Chapple, B Singleton, C Jacob, G Osborne (27-17).

The last County Ladies Foxlands match of the season saw Honiton lose to Torquay Utd (57-78).
