Boy, five, with hand stuck in bus seat is rescued by Honiton firefighters

A five-year-old schoolboy whose hand was stuck in a bus seat this morning (Friday) was rescued by Honiton firefighters.

The fire crew was sent to School Lane shortly before 9am where they found the youngster on a coach with his hand stuck between two seats.

Firefighters took out of one of the bus seats to release the schoolboy’s trapped hand.

A Honiton fire station spokesman said: “A young boy had his hand trapped between two of the seats on one of the school buses.

“We freed his hand by removing one of the seats.”

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “The crew promptly released the male’s hand using small tools.”
