Hospiscare has announced its Twilight Walk will return to Exmouth in July with two new walking routes and a fresh venue.
This year’s theme is beach party with a pink twist, and those taking part are encouraged to dress in tutus, beach hats and floral garlands.
The 2020 Twilight Walk is on Saturday, July 4, and there is an early-bird entry fee of £15.
Walkers can choose routes of 6.5 miles or 13.1 miles, starting at the Queen’s Drive Space, taking in Exmouth seafront, with entertainment along the way, and a glass of pink fizz as a reward for crossing the finish line.
Funds raised from the day of fizz and fun will go directly to Hospiscare – a charity providing free specialist care to people living with a terminal illness throughout Devon..
A spokeswoman for Hospiscare said: “This women’s walking event offers a scenic 6.5 mile walk or a more challenging 13.1 mile route, both of which take in stunning views along Exmouth seafront and the picturesque estuary.
“Participants will be entertained along the way and rewarded with a glass of pink fizz at the finish.”
“Tutus, beach hats and flower leis are encouraged as this year’s theme is beach party with Twilight’s iconic pink twist.
“Entries for the Twilight Walk are open now and until 1 April. We are offering an early bird price of just £15.”
Hospiscare has three sites in Devon, Searle House in Exeter – a 12-bed ward and day hospice, and day hospice services at Kings House in Honiton and Pine Lodge in Tiverton.
High View centre in Exmouth has a nursing and fundraising hub for this part of East Devon.
Hospiscare also provides community care with Hospiscare@Home in Exmouth and Budleigh Salterton and Seaton and Axminster.
