The Romans and the influence they had on Exeter is the topic of Fairlynch Museum’s next Coffee Time Talk at the Peter Hall, in Budleigh Salterton, on Wednesday, March 4, at 10.30am.
The talk delves into the arrival of the Second Augustan Legion, the building of the fortress and bathhouse, to the eventual abandonment of the civilian city of Isca Dumnonoirum as Roman control in Britain ended.
The event includes the discovery of the Seaton Down Hoard, who found it, what it was and why it was there.
The talk is at the Peter Hall, The Lawn, Budleigh Salterton, and has been organised by the Friends of Fairlynch Museum.
Entry is £3 for Friends of Fairlynch and £5 for others, to include tea or coffee, and a biscuit.
