Exmouth man denies murder at Newton Poppleford scrapyard

A 31-year-old from Exmouth has pleaded not guilty to murdering a man found dead in a burnt-out caravan in Newton Poppleford.

Lewis Finch denied murdering Geoffrey Pearce when he appeared at Exeter Crown Court today, Thursday, February 13, via video link.

Mr Pearce, aged 47, was found dead in a scrap yard in the East Devon village on January 9 this year.

Judge Peter Johnson remanded Finch in custody and adjourned the case until July 6 for trial.
