Car completely destroyed by fire in Ottery St Mary

A car was completely destroyed by fire in Ottery St Mary this afternoon (Tuesday, February 4).

The blaze happened in Barrack Road at around 4.30pm.

Firefighters from the town arrived at the scene to find the car ‘well alight’.

The vehicle was 100 per cent damaged by fire and to deal with the incident crews used two breathing apparatus and one compressed air foam jet…

A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: “One fire appliance from Ottery St Mary was sent to a report of a vehicle on fire at the above location.

“On arrival crews confirmed that the car was well alight.

“The vehicle was 100 per cent damaged by fire and to deal with the incident crews used two breathing apparatus and one compressed air foam jet.”
