Honiton Tesco shows support for Hospiscare’s call to ‘put the kettle on’

A Honiton supermarket is showing its support for Hospiscare’s coffee morning appeal by donating raffle prizes.

Honiton Tesco has donated two £50 vouchers to Hospiscare for coffee morning-themed hampers up for grabs.

Hospiscare’s community fundraising team will be at Honiton Tesco on Friday, February 14, Thursday, February 20 and the following day, February 21, from 8.30am until 11.30am, with help, advice and ‘bags of enthusiasm’ to support those organising coffee mornings for the charity.

March is Hospiscare’s official coffee morning month. Last year the charity’s ‘amazing’ supporters raised more than £15,000 for the hospice charity.

Hospiscare is hoping to beat that target this year with a fundraising goal of £30,000.

Toni Hiscocks, event organiser, said “Working alongside patients within the day hospice and community team for the last five years, I have seen first-hand how the money raised from this event can support local people with terminal illnesses.

“Your support means that we can continue to provide specialist care to local people living with a terminal illness in your community.”

Hospiscare said funds raised through the annual coffee morning events would raise money to care for patients with terminal illnesses and their families in Exeter, Mid and East Devon.

The charity hopes people taking part – including coffee mornings with a twist – will share their events on social media, using the hashtag #putthekettleon
