Police confirm death of man airlifted to hospital after falling ill at Rockbeare

A man believed to have fallen from a lorry after becoming ill at Rockbeare on Thursday, has died police have confirmed.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a man in his 60s had a ‘medical episode’ at around 12.30pm on January 16, and was flown by air ambulance to hospital, where he was pronounced dead.

Officers said the death was not being treated as suspicious at this time.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokeswoman said: “Police were called to reports that a man  in his 60s had a medical episode at around 12.30pm on 16th January in Rockbeare.

“The air ambulance landed at the scene and the man was taken to hospital where he was later pronounced deceased.

“The death is not believed to be suspicious at this time and a file will be prepared for the coroner.”
