A new location has been announced for the Ottery St Mary Food and Families Festival, enabling the whole event to be held at one location.
The site of this year’s festival, on Saturday, May 30, starting at 10am, is just off Alfington Road, near Otter Nurseries, which will allow for more entertainment, and a bigger market.
Organisers of the Food and Families Festival have begun recruiting for entertainers and are keen to hear from musicians, or other artists.
Now gearing up for the eighth food festival, in previous years the popular Ottery event took place over multiple sites.
A spokesperson for the Ottery St Mary Food and Families Festival said: “Having the festival in one enclosed and car-free space allows us to do many things.
“We can have a much bigger and varied market. We can have food and drink next to the entertainment, and more of it.
“Children’s activities next to where the parents may want to be. Much better access for people with mobility issues, as well as parents with prams. These are just some of the improvements we’re working on.
“We’ll also make the event even more sustainable, with the help of Greener Ottery and Plastic Free Ottery.”
If you are an entertainer and would like to get involved, send a message to the team through Ottery St Mary Food and Families Festival’s Facebook page, here.
