Dowell Street parking charges could be implemented on April 1

Honiton Town Council is to meet with officials from the district authority to discuss the next step in plans to introduce charges at Dowell Street car park.

At a full town council meeting next week, councillors will hear that East Devon District Council has approved the move.

A meeting is scheduled to take place during the same week to prepare plans for the implementation of the charges.

The town clerk is suggesting April 1 – to tie in with the new financial year and to give users of the car park adequate warning.

  • Two people have put themselves forward for co–option to the town council. The vacancy will be considered at a meeting on February 10.

More than half of Honiton council grant applicants do not meet the criteria
