There is more time to apply for grants for Exmouth community projects because the town council has extended its deadline for requests for funding.
The deadline to apply for a share of the £20,000 Exmouth Community Fund pot has been moved to Monday, January 27, at 9am, when applications must be with Exmouth Town Council.
Exmouth’s mayor Councillor Steve Gazzard said: “This is a real opportunity for local groups with a good idea to see that become reality and to promote local community spirit.”
Exmouth Town Council said grants are for a maximum of £3,000 and minimum of £250, and can be awarded for capital items and one-off costs of a permanent item, such as buildings.
Money is also available for one-off revenue costs, such as events, start-up costs, and time-constrained projects.
Grants are available for projects where a significant proportion benefits Exmouth and its residents.
Applications are welcome from community projects with new ideas that benefit and enhance the community.
Decisions on applications will be made at an Exmouth Community Fund event on Thursday, February 20, attended by all eligible applicants.
Applicants will be expected to give a short Dragon’s Den-style presentation to explain their projects and its need for funding.
Successful projects securing a grant will be notified by the town council at a later date.
