Police investigating New Year’s Eve serious assault in Exeter seek pink pram man witness

Police in Exeter are keen to trace a man pushing a pink pram in the city on New Year’s Eve believing he could have witnessed an attack where a 21-year-old’s jaw was broken.

Devon and Cornwall Police said a man was attacked by a stranger as he walked between Western Way and the Quay at around 11pm-11.30pm on December 31.

Officers said he was punched by a man who was walking with another male.

Police are appealing for witnesses to the attack to come forward.

Officers are keen to speak to a man who was pushing a pram nearby, believing him to have seen the strike.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said: “The man was knocked unconscious and subsequently required surgery for a broken jaw.

“Officers are keen to speak to a man who was pushing a pink pram nearby and is understood to have seen the incident, because he could be a key witness of the attack.”
