A round-up of news from Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce

Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce has released information about key dates for members in the first quarter of 2020.

They start with an open breakfast, traditionally staged on the second Wednesday of each month.  The next breakfast is taking place on January 8 at The Hotel Elizabeth. The venue is for one month only  – while the Kingswood is closed.

This month’s theme is ‘Food for Thought’ and there is no speaker – to give everyone a longer opportunity to chat and network. A short time will be devoted to a discussion on chamber issues and ideas.

The chamber’s AGM will take place on Tuesday, March 3 at 6pm in The Kingswood.  There will be a guest speaker and the committee will be looking to fill some vacancies.

Members are reminded that in the first quarter of 2020 the Science Festival has arranged a series of events on clean growth.  The first will deal with local business aspects of the topic, which organisers hope will be of interest to members.

David Ralph, Chief Executive of the Heart of the South West Local Enterprise Partnership, will give a talk on the subject of “What is clean and inclusive growth and what does it mean for the area?”.  The talk will take place at Kennaway House on Tuesday, January 21 starting at 3pm. Entry is free.
