Police appeal after elderly pedestrian sustains multiple serious injuries in traffic incident at West Hill

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an elderly pedestrian was injured in a road traffic incident in West Hill.

The 92-year-old woman was walking in the village when she sustained the injuries. Police investigating the incident say she was “seriously injured by a single vehicle travelling along the road”.

Devon and Cornwall Police were notified of the incident in West Hill Road at 6.43pm yesterday (Tuesday).

A spokesperson said; “The incident was attended by personnel from the police and ambulance Services.

“A 92-year-old female pedestrian crossing the road was seriously injured by a single vehicle travelling along the road.

“Officers from the Exeter Roads Policing Unit are appealing for witnesses to come forward.

“Police would like to thank members of the public for their patience during the scene closure.”

In an update to a previous report, police have added that the woman was take to RD&E where she remains at this time. The driver of the car was uninjured.
