Flooding of low-lying land and roads close to the River Clyst has been evident in Broadclyst and Clyst St Mary throughout Monday.
The Environment Agency (EA) today, December 16, said heavy rainfall over the last 24 hours meant the river remained high.
An EA spokesperson said: “Levels suggest that there will be flooding to low lying land and roads close to the river.
“We are constantly monitoring river levels and have staff in the area checking for, and clearing, blockages in this location.”
The EA said risk of flooding from the River Axe had now reduced, and river levels were falling below levels of concern.
The spokesperson said: “No further flooding to fields and roads is expected, however there may be standing water seen for several days.”
