‘No cold callers’ signs available for farmers

Efforts are under way to help farmers protect themselves from travelling crooks. ‘No cold callers’ signs are now available from the police.

Rural crime officers from Devon and Cornwall Police say they recognise that farmers are vulnerable from travelling criminals who cold call at farms.

They have been working with the NFU and Trading Standards to try and tackle this.

A spokesperson said: “Good security and vigilance is crucial, however clear signage will aid farmers to avoid the cold calls.”

Farmers can simply request posters. If you would like one, email tiverton@devonandcornwall.pnn.police.uk with your name, address and telephone number.
