Spate of rural thefts in Honiton, Axminster and Colyton prompts police warning

A spate of rural thefts over the past 10 days has prompted a police warning.

Eight thefts have been reported from locations including Honiton, Axminster and Colyton.

Missing items include plant equipment, livestock trailers, diggers, and machinery.

Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Please be vigilant. Lock and secure all farm and plant machinery and consider all forms of security.

“Every form of security creates another barrier – don’t give them an easy opportunity to steal your property.

“If you see any suspicious people or vehicles, take the registration, description, time and date and contact police.”

If the a suspect on the scene, call 999. If it is not an emergency, call 101.
