PHOTOS & VIDEO: Late night arson attacks on cars in Exmouth’s Union Street

Police are investigating the cause of two car fires in Exmouth late last night and have issued an appeal for information.

The separate fires both occurred in Union Street and were reported at 11.35pm

Firefighters from Exmouth dealt with the blazes.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said: “On arrival, crews confirmed that both vehicles were well alight.

“Crews used two hose reel jets and breathing apparatus sets to extinguish the fires. Police were called to the scene as there was a concern that both fires had been started deliberately.”

Both vehicles sustained a significant amount of damage.

A spokesperson for Devon and Cornwall Police said: “Police were called to Union Street, Exmouth,  by the fire service at around 11.50pm on Thursday 28 November with reports two vehicles were alight.

“Officers are investigating an incident of arson and have appealed for information.”
