A ‘Market and Mingle’ event staged in Payhembury last Friday raised money for a local toddler group while throwing the spotlight on small businesses.
Shoppers flocked to the village hall in spite of poor weather.
A total of £150 was raised for Apple Pips toddler group. The cash will be used to buy new toys.
Two large boxes and bags of donations for the food bank in Ottery St Mary were also collected during the event. The food will be handed over this Friday.
Local businesses showcased their wares, giving market-goers a chance to buy local in the run-up to Christmas.
