Man, 31, arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault in Exeter

Police have arrested a 31-year-old man on suspicion of rape and sexual assault in Exeter.  

An investigation was launched following reports of an attack in the St Germans Road area of the city between 2am and 4am on Wednesday, November 13.

The alleged victim, a female aged in her late teens, is being supported by specially-trained officers.

Police have been carrying out community reassurance work in the area and have appealed for witnesses to come forward.

A Devon and Cornwall Police spokesperson said today (Thursday): “As a result of enquiries, a 31-year-old man from Exeter has been arrested on suspicion of rape and sexual assault. He remains in police custody at this time.

“Police are still appealing for witnesses.

“Anyone with any information is urged to call police on 101, or email 101@dc.police.uk, quoting log number 205 of 14/11/19.”
