Land Rover badly damaged by fire near Axminster

Firefighters from Axminster have tackled a vehicle blaze near Chardstock overnight.

One appliance attended the scene of the fire, reported at 1.36am.

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service says a Land Rover was ‘well alight’ when firefighters arrived.

The incident report states: “The vehicle was 50 per cent damaged by fire and 100 per cent damaged by smoke.

“To deal with the incident, the fire crew used two breathing apparatus, two hose reels, a thermal image camera and small tools.”
