Festive fun for the family is afoot at The Donkey Sanctuary near Sidmouth in the coming weeks.
A Christmas Fair, Carols by Candlelight and an ‘Adoption Donkey Christmas Stocking Trail’ will be on offer at the international animal welfare charity in Salcombe Regis.
The Christmas fair takes place over the weekend of November 23 and 24 from 10am to 4pm – with the sanctuary’s indoor arena packed with traders selling unique items.
Santa will put in a special appearance and children will be able to visit him in his grotto.
Winter-warming refreshments will be served throughout the weekend and East Devon Rock Choir will bring festive cheer to the fair on the Saturday afternoon between 1pm and 1.30pm.
Entry costs £2.50 for anyone aged over 12 and includes a complimentary entry into the prize draw.
A visit to Santa costs £4 per person and includes a small gift.
Thousands of candles will be lit at The Donkey Sanctuary on Friday, December 13, as part of the charity’s Carols by Candlelight.
The free event starts at 4pm with a performance by Exeter Railway Band.
Held in New Barn in the heart of the sanctuary, the carol service takes place surrounded by lots of friendly donkeys from 5pm.
The Adoption Donkey Christmas Stocking Trail gives visitors the opportunity to explore the sanctuary and claim a present and certificate on its completion.
It costs £3 and runs between 9am and 4pm from November 23 to January 5.
