Woodbury comes together to honour its war dead on Remembrance Sunday and Armistice Day

Woodbury honoured its war dead on Remembrance Sunday with a gathering at the village green memorial.

Prayers and thanks were said at a service in St Swithun’s Church, in memory of the brave men and women of Woodbury who did not come home from war, and those killed in recent combat.

Veterans stood shoulder-to-shoulder at the war memorial alongside dignitaries, residents, members of the armed services and the young, as Woodbury paid tribute to its fallen heroes.

On Armistice Day, November 11, the village gathered for another short service at its war memorial where a two minutes’ silence was held.
