Police warn of suspicious males looking in Seaton gardens

Police have today issued an alert, saying officers have received a report of two males looking in people’s gardens in Seaton.

Residents are urged not to let cold callers remove waste from their premises and to call police if they see anyone acting suspiciously.

The men have been seen in a white Ford Transit van. It is understood they could be looking for scrap metal.

Devon and Cornwall Police said in a statement: “Please ensure that any person removing waste from your premises holds a waste carriers licence and exercise caution when people arrive uninvited looking around your premises.”

The warning is the second of its kind in the last few days.

A ‘suspicious’ incident involving characters in a white van spotted seeking scrap metal was reported in Exeter.

Residents were also told to keep an eye out for anyone looking round their properties uninvited.

If you have any concerns or see cold-callers in the area, call 101 or email 101 quoting log 275 11 November 2019.
