Police investigating the circumstances surrounding a man’s death in Sidmouth yesterday say the fatality is not being treated as suspicious at this time.
The man died after a car went over a cliff and landed on the beach yesterday morning.
Enquiries are currently under way to confirm the man’s identity.
The tragedy happened at Peak Hill Road at 9.25am.
Emergency services recovered the car from the beach yesterday evening. The beach has now been reopened to the public.
Police, HM Coastguard teams and helicopter, ambulance, RNLI lifeboats and the fire service attended the incident.
