Sidmouth restaurant and cafe sold for undisclosed figure

Brown’s Kitchen, a licensed café and restaurant in Sidmouth, has been sold.

Business transfer agent Stonesmith says the prime location business changed hands for an undisclosed figure off a guide price of £140,00.

The leasehold opportunity presented ‘a lucrative and prime trading position with a visible frontage within the main High Street’, the marketing particulars stated.

Interest came from parties impressed by the cafe’s split level customer dining area with seating for 36 customers, a conservatory dining space with seating for 18 customers and an enclosed rear trade garden providing al fresco seating for a further 10 customers.

Brown’s Kitchen was sold with a fully equipped commercial catering kitchen along with extensive ancillary and welfare facilities.

The business carved out a niche with its popular menu focussing on quality, freshly prepared homemade dishes using the best possible locally sourced produce.

A spokesperson for Stonesmith said: “The sale of the business offered undoubted potential for new owners to build on existing levels of trade and to develop the style of trade to suit their own personal requirements.”
