Accidental fire destroys tractor and damages trailer

A tractor has been destroyed by fire and a trailer damaged, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service has said.
The fire, reported shortly before midday today (November 4), happened at Venn Ottery.
Fire crews from Ottery St Mary and Middlemoor, along with a water carrier from Danes Castle, tackled the blaze.

The fire and rescue service said: “Upon arrival crews reported that the vehicle was well alight and got to work to extinguish the fire using two breathing apparatus, one compressed air foam jet and small tools.

“The tractor was 100 per cent damaged by fire and a trailer was five per cent damaged by fire.”

The cause of the fire is believed to be accidental.
