Sidmouth Town Council is pulling out all the stops to put on a dazzling display for Christmas. The town’s annual light switch-on will take place on Saturday, November 16 at 5.30pm.
For its part, Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce will be running a Golden Ticket Draw. A prize of £100 is up for grabs – kindly donated by Gliddons Toyshop in Church Street.
Students from Sidmouth College will join the judging party for this year’s Christmas window competition.
Attractions at this year’s late night shopping event will include music, fun and special offers. The evening is scheduled to take place on Monday, December 2 and shops will be open until 8pm.
Ahead of al the festivities, the chamber is staging a Coffee, Croissants and Chat on Friday, November 8 at The Loft, Old Fore Street. Taking place from 9am to 10am, this meeting is aimed at new or established business in the Sid Valley, with or without business premises.
A chamber spokesperson said: “Come and hear what the chamber does and have your say – we would love to hear your thoughts. This meeting is mainly for new or established businesses who do not know what the chamber does.
“As a member, you are most welcome to come along and it would be appreciated, for catering purposes, if you could send a quick e-mail to email@example.com to say you are attending.”
