It took a whole year to organise and, after all the hard work, Honiton Carnival delighted crowds tonight (October 26).
The culmination of a busy Carnival Week, the last illuminated carnival on the East Devon circuit for 2019 attracted top local carnival clubs – along with a good number of visiting entries from further afield.
Wet and windy weather this morning did nothing to dampen spirits for the event.
The carnival committee said the show would go on, and it did!
Local highlights included a leading role played by Honiton Twirlstars and, of course, the carnival’s own royal family.
The procession followed a launch event in the Macarkness Hall last Saturday, a quiz at The Beehive the following evening and the traditional bingo in the Mackarness Hall on Wednesday.
Full results and round-up to follow.
