Supermarket giant Lidl wants to relocate its Sidmouth store elsewhere in the town and also open new outlets in Cranbrook, Axminster, Seaton and the centre of Exmouth.
The firm lists the five places – and a trio of locations in Exeter – among 31 locations on a wish-list of sites for Somerset, Devon and Cornwall.
In a document detailing the retailer’s ‘store requirements’, it appeals to plot owners to ‘talk to us about your land and development opportunities today’.
Lidl adds: “Help us find great quality locations for our new stores.”
The supermarket giant says it is looking for ‘prominent locations with easy access and strong pedestrian or traffic flow’.
It is open to freehold and leasehold opportunities and ‘flexible on design and scale’ between 14,000 sq ft and 26,500 sq ft.
In East Devon, Lidl currently has stores in Woolbrook Road, Sidmouth; Dinan Way, Exmouth; and Heathpark, Honiton.
The ‘site requirements’ document says the firm wants to relocate its Sidmouth store to another site in the town and to also open a new outlet in ‘central’ Exmouth.
Cranbrook, Seaton and Axminster are also earmarked for potential new supermarkets.
In Exeter, the retailer currently has stores in Powlesland Road, Alphington, and Burnthouse Lane in Wonford.
Central, north and south-east areas of the city have been identified by Lidl as places it would like to expand to.
