Visit Sidmouth re-branding set to be unveiled to business leaders

The re-branding of ‘Visit Sidmouth’, carried out on behalf of Sidmouth Town Council, will be unveiled to business leaders at a breakfast meeting next Wednesday.

Councillor Louise Thompson will be joined by Jessica, of Voyage Marketing, to give a presentation to members of Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce at an 8am open breakfast meeting on October 9.

Richard Eley and Sally Mynard from the chamber were invited to the town council offices last week to find out more about the project.

The chamber’s recent Classic Car Show was a great success, held in partnership with the Crash Box Club.

A chamber spokesperson said: “The quality of cars was better than ever, the crowds were probably bigger than ever and everyone enjoyed their day.

“The day was also a tribute to Matt Portman, our treasurer, who sadly and suddenly passed away earlier this year.

“He was always a very important member of our car show team. A new ‘Matt Portman Pride of Ownership Award’ was made by Sue Portman and her son and daughter to a proud car owner.”

The spokesperson added: “Sidmouth Jewellers pulled out every stop possible, first to acquire the shield and then to have it engraved . A massive thank you goes to each of them.”

The chamber has expressed its gratitude to everyone who helped on the day.

This year, Sidmouth Chamber of Commerce has been working with the students at Sidmouth College to design a poster to promote this year’s Late Night Shopping event which will take place on Friday, December 6.

Posters will be available in the coming weeks.
