Friends’ link between hospital and community to be highlighted at Honiton Tesco

A league of friends has been the link between Honiton Hospital and the community it serves for decades. Now Honiton Hospital and Community League of Friends is reaching out to tell everyone what it does.

It is raising awareness about its work, recruiting more volunteers and signing up additional ‘friends’ with an event – in the community.

You can meet the hard-working volunteers who make a difference to hospital departments and community teams at Tesco in Honiton on October 18.

During the event, you will be able to find out more about the voluntary opportunities available and how £5 a year can support the friends’ vital work.

The message going out is that the league supports the work of both Honiton Hospital and community teams. It also promotes health and wellbeing across the community, and provides a link between the hospital and the wider community.

Among the departments currently receiving support from the league are: minor injuries, renal dialysis, antenatal, X-ray and Honiton Admiral Nurse. The friends also support chemotherapy in association with charity Force.
