Exmouth in Bloom gives thanks for ‘fantastic’ bucket collection total

Exmouth in Bloom volunteers have thanked the town for supporting the group’s work throughout the year when the community gave generously at a recent street collection.

Volunteers with bucket collections in the Magnolia Centre counted more than £260 when residents and visitors backed the group with donations.

Marion Drew, Exmouth in Bloom vice-chairman, said: “A big thank you goes to all the local residents and visitors who supported the Exmouth in Bloom Street collection at the wonderful re-vamped seating area in the Magnolia Centre on 21st September.

“A fantastic total of £268 was dropped into our buckets and lots of folk stopped to praise the work we have done in the town to ‘make a difference’.”

The summer season may be over, but Exmouth in Bloom is still hard at work, gearing up for next year’s floral displays.

This month volunteers have been removing the summer bedding plants and displays, ready for the new season’s planting.

Throughout October the group will remove hanging baskets and summer planters, dig in bulbs ready for spring, plan next summer’s displays and order the bedding plants.
