Budleigh Salterton Carnival has been cancelled due to concerns over the weather.
The colourful event was due to take place this evening (Saturday, September 28).
However, organisers have made the decision ‘with a heavy heart’ after the Met Office issued a yellow weather warning – with high winds and heavy rain predicted.
The Budleigh Salterton Carnival committee posted on Facebook: “It is with a heavy heart that we have made the decision to cancel tonight’s carnival.
“We have looked at the Met Office website and there is a yellow weather warning in place predicting heavy rain and wind gusts up to 45mph.
“We have to consider participant and spectator safety when making our decision.
“Thank you all for your ongoing support
“See you in 2020.”
Budleigh Salterton revived its carnival three years ago following a two decade break.
