Plans to turn Dolphin Hotel into restaurant

The former Dolphin Hotel in Honiton, bought by a local businessman earlier this year, could be transformed into a restaurant.

Great Western Properties Limited is seeking permission to change the use of the hotel to a restaurant , with ancillary staff rooms and storage.

The application further seeks consent for internal alterations to include new partition walls.

The hotel most recently traded as Montgomery’s.

Honiton Town Council’s Planning Committee will consider the application at a meeting on Tuesday, October 1. East Devon District Council will have the final say.

If given the green light, the town centre building will be back in use after a prolonged period of closure.

At the same meeting, councillors will consider an application from Barclays Bank to install bird protection netting at 106 High Street.
