Police issue appeal after elderly pedestrian sustains serious injuries in collision with car

Police are appealing for witnesses to come forward after an elderly pedestrian sustained serious injuries in a collision with a car.

The woman, in her 70s, is in hospital with pelvic and ankle injuries.

She was involved in a collision with a Vauxhall Meriva at 9.15am yesterday (September 15) in Topsham Road, Exeter.

The road was closed from Countess Wear roundabout and at Admiral Way while emergency services worked at the scene. It was re-opened at 12.10pm.

A police spokesperson said anyone who witnessed the incident should come forward. They can contact police by email at 101@dc.police.uk or by calling on 101, quoting log number 0312 of 15/09/19.
