Firefighters from Honiton, Ottery St Mary and Middlemoor have tacked a house fire in Alfington overnight.
The ground floor of the property sustained extensive fire damage.
Emergency services received a report that a conservatory in Mill Lane was on fire at 2.44am.
Two appliances from Honiton, one from Ottery and a crew from Middlemoor responded to the emergency.
All persons had evacuated the property and were accounted for.
Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service said 4 x 4 capabilities were required because of concerns about restricted access.
A spokesperson said: “On arrival the incident commander confirmed that all persons were accounted for and that there was a fire in the ground floor of a domestic property measuring approx. 10m by 15m.
“Crews got to work extinguishing the fire using two breathing apparatus wearers, one hose reel jet and one safety jet.
“At 3.18am crews were naturally venting the property.”
Crews then used a thermal imaging camera to check for hot spots and a positive pressure ventilation fan to remove remaining smoke logging.
The cause of the fire was believed to be accidental.
