Bruv’s Bar announces Honiton opening date – and a freebie

Bruv’s Bar will open in Honiton High Street this Friday (September 20) – and there will be a free welcome gift to the first 50 people through the door.

They will each receive a Sourz Shot. In addition, special offers will run or fishbowls and jagerbombs.

The opening is at 7pm and is tipped to be one of the biggest new business launches in Honiton this year.

Providing entertainment will be a DJ set from Laced DJs. Laced have played house music for years and had a residency at The Dance Academy, Union Street, Plymouth. They will play plenty of piano anthems and classics.

Bruvs Bar opening

Located in the former Bar 102 premises, the much-anticipated Bruv’s Bar boasts a contemporary new look. It will offer Honiton town centre a completely new venue for music and food, as well as social and business gatherings.

Named after one of its owners, Jim ‘Bruv’ Hagon, the family business includes Jim’s wife, Sharon, son Reece, daughter Shannon and Reece’s wife, Lauren.

Jim is well-known for calling everyone ‘Bruv’ – hence the bar’s original name.

Work to revamp the bar has been taking place over the summer.

As well as boasting a fully stocked bar, the business will offer soft drinks, along with tea and coffee.

A limited initial food selection will be developed so that, by the end of the year, Bruv’s Bar is serving breakfasts, lunches and dinners.

The family previously told East Devon News.co.uk: “We’ve got a brilliant space for live music, and are looking forward to welcoming local bands and musicians to the bar.

“We’ll also be running themed nights, like quiz nights, karaoke and comedy notes.”

For customers’ convenience, Bruv’s Bar has plugs and USB points, making it an attractive place for business people and meetings.
