HIT AND RUN: Suspect released from police custody ‘under investigation’

A 28-year-old man arrested by police following an alleged hit and run near Exeter Airport has been released from custody ‘under investigation’ while inquires continue.

A 16-year-old pedestrian suffered serious injuries after being hit by a car.

The incident happened on the B3184 Clyst Honiton bypass.

The collision occurred at around 8.30pm on September 10 and, at the time, police said the vehicle involved fled the scene.

A suspect released under investigation was arrested on suspicion of multiple offences, including dangerous driving, disqualified driving, driving whilst unfit through drink or drugs, and failing to stop.

Officers from the Exeter Roads Policing Unit are still appealing for witnesses to come forward.
