Man and woman attacked after telling youths to stop swearing on Budleigh seafront

Police are investigating reports that a man and woman were assaulted on Budleigh seafront after telling three males to stop shouting and swearing.

Officers are keen to speak to a witness who filmed the attack on a mobile phone.

The attack is said to have happened at around 6.30pm yesterday (September 10).

Devon and Cornwall Police said: “A man and a woman were walking along the seafront when they were both assaulted by three male youths after asking them to stop swearing and shouting.

“One of the teens had allegedly punched the male victim in the head and another male has then started throwing stones at the man and his wife before all three offenders left the scene.”

Police are appealing specifically to a witness who filmed the incident on a mobile device.
