Night raid burglars forced their way into Honiton football club to steal cash and booze.
Police are investigating a burglary at Honiton Town Football Club after a break-in occurred sometime between 10pm on Saturday, September 7, and 8.15am the following morning.
Culprits forced a clubhouse door to gain entry, taking cash and booze.
Investigating officers at Devon and Cornwall Police are appealing for witnesses and want to hear from anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious in the area of the club around the hours of the raid.
A police spokeswoman said: “The break-in happened sometime between 10pm on Saturday 7 September and 8.15am the next day.
“Offenders forced a door before stealing a quantity of cash and alcohol.
“Police are appealing for witnesses and asking anyone who saw or heard anything suspicious around the club to contact them.”
Honiton Town Football Club thanked all who sent ‘kind’ messages of support after the break-in.
A club spokesperson writing on social media said: “They may have broken into our club, but they haven’t broken the spirit of all the different clubs that use Mountbatten.”
